Digital Innovation: Made in Europe

#fml

On 26/27 February 2015 the Future Media Lab., in cooperation with EMMA and VDZ Akademie, is organising a Start-up Tour of Berlin. The tour will visit nine media-based start-ups in the city that is quickly becoming one of Europe’s favourite locations for start-ups. Participants in the tour will not only meet the founders of some of Berlin’s most innovative companies face-to-face, but they will also obtain valuable insight into the latest developments and innovative workflows relevant to the magazine media industry.

As the media environment changes, publishers have been scrambling to find answers to address the challenges that have come with it. From changing consumer behaviours, to the shift from print to digital, to the development of new business models, start-ups have the potential to solve some pressing issues publishers currently face.

Axel Springer recognized this back in 2013 when it founded the Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator, placing start-ups in a central role to the company’s overall strategy.
